Float trips on the Aluminé may be day trips on more accessible sections or include overnight camping (one or two nights) on inaccessible stretches of river bordered by wilderness. Chimehuin Safaris supplies all camping equipment, including cots, and sets up camp for you on all trips. Superb outdoor cooking keeps you well stoked for a long day of fishing, usually from 10 a.m. until dark (10 p.m.). You will see few fishermen on your trip and feel as though the river is your own. Chimehuin Safaris specializes in these overnight trips and is the only outfitter to offer them regularly.
There is ample opportunity to wade some fantastic runs, particularly on the two-night trips. While we discourage studded boots in the boats, wading is comfortable on medium rocks that are not too slippery. You should bring your favorite trout rod, but you should also take a 6-weight rod for sinking lines and streamers.
Wildlife is abundant on the Aluminé. You may see quanacos, foxes, eagles and geese along the way. The scenery in places is absolutely breathtaking.
