The Chimehuín River begins at Heuchulafquen Lake, world-famous as the "Boca (Mouth) of the Chimehuín." This is where Argentina's record brown trout was caught, weighing in at 25.5 lbs. We have permits from several estancias along the shores, whereas other fishermen have to use public entrances and walk long distances to their fishing spots.
Quilquihue River, which is a tributary to Chimehuín, is located a mere 20 kilometers from San Martín de los Andes.
